Does placing a character in the dead pile trigger threats, or do you have to "kill" the character to trigger threats?

"When a companion or ally is killed and that card is placed in the dead pile, the Free Peoples player counts the number of threats on the dead pile and then removes them. Then the Free Peoples player must assign a number of wounds equal to the number of threats removed to his companions in any way he wishes." [Rulebook 4.0, page 17]
Your Wizard being Sent Back would not trigger the threats because he was not killed.

Ignore | I was involved in writing multiple 50+ page reports, just not major papers. Reports are a bit different, since they include graphs and pictures, and are mainly explaining what you did and your results... often as groups.
