      My trip to worlds 2005

After winning European this year I was pretty happy when I received the mail from Dan Bojanowski telling me I won the free flight to gen con this year.

I booked it a little late (end of july) but finally I got the reservation of the plane so I was really happy to go to the USA for the first time.

I left nantes (west of france) to paris by train to go to the airport, the trip is fast in 2 hours and I take a taxi to go from the trainstation to the airport, the driver was completly mad and I thought we will have an accident sooner or later as he was driving so fast in the street of Paris.

I arrive in advance at the airport and nearly wanting to reject my breakfast because of the driving, I head to the office where a guy is looking through my luggage and telling me he doesn't know there was a TCG game based on LOTR, I tell him I'm going to worlds. Then a waitress is watching my ticket and is looking on her computer if I'm here. After some time she tells me I'm sorry but I can't see your name on the passenger list, you should go to the ticket office to ask what happened (it was the good flight).

I then head to the ticket office where another waitress tell me the reservation was canceled because it didn't get payed in time !

At this time I have mixed feelings between anger, sadness and resignation. I don't have enough money on me to pay a new ticket (and as I wasn't sure to receive money back from Decipher). I then head to gregory Leloup's side of airport to tell him I can't go because Decipher can't or didn't want to pay the flight. He feels sad for me especially since he was alone from france to be there and representing the country.

I finally go back to the train station via bus (no way i take another taxi ;) then a train back to home.

Result of the day : almost 100€ (a bit more dollars) spent for nothing.

      Thanks Decipher.
